My Love Letter to You

Even though I'm not a big celebrator of Valentine's Day, I am a HUGEEEE proponent of LOVE!! I think it's our core essence and should always be the driving force behind our actions. Valentine's Day did get me thinking about love and what words I would want to share with the beautiful people that I have the privilege to share my love with. 

So I wrote a note, poem, whatever you want to call it, for all those people. But in reality, I wrote the words that I would want to receive on any given day. So here is what I recommend:  copy and paste this and send it to your loved ones. Let's see how much love we can spread today! 

My love letter to you...

I see the struggles in you.
It is the same struggle inside me, in all of us.
I want you to know that you are loved.
Not for the person you are becoming.
Not for the body you hope to have.
Not for the lessons you’ve yet to learn. Not for your next breath. But for this moment.
Right where you stand now,
In this gorgeous light:
You are loved.

You are not perfect.
I see your flaws.
Each one connected by a history that brought you to me.
Your flaws echo who you are
Sometimes highlighted by my acts
Sometimes fostered by own flaws
But I love you because of them

Love is a great responsibility
It’s a job that I take with respect and care
I pray that my love for you
Reflects the immense love you have for yourself.

In this never-ending roller coaster of life,
In our pits and valleys,
In our darker days,
I have full confidence in our love.
Never doubt what I feel for you.
For us.

This life is made for connection.
To seek those who see us,
Who hear our daily cries for compassion
Who show up, with or without invitation
Who create a space for our authentic selves
To grow, share and be at peace.
You are this for me.
And I am grateful.
